Jack Melamed

Jack is interim chief legal officer and corporate secretary. He joined Fortune Brands in April 2023 as associate general counsel, corporate and M&A, and was promoted to vice president, deputy general counsel, and later took on additional responsibilities as the company’s assistant secretary.

Jack is deeply familiar with the company’s business practices, governance processes and legal reporting requirements and has established relationships with members of the Board of Directors. During his time with Fortune Brands, he has played an important role in the company’s external reporting and disclosure processes, corporate governance matters and strategic M&A activities. He regularly partners with senior leaders across the business to provide legal counsel on a wide range of commercial and strategic initiatives. Prior to Fortune Brands, Jack worked at Sidley Austin LLP in their corporate group. Before his time at Sidley, he worked at Shearman & Sterling LLP in their M&A group.

Jack earned a JD from Georgetown Law and a BA in political economy from Tulane University.
